A building between me and the harbour…

A few days ago I noticed a crane outside my window near the harbour. I thought it was clearing shingle on the beach after the storm. Yesterday I saw it again and went to look. I was aghast. The footings of building are there.

My enquiries led me to believe it was an illegal building, but now I am fearing that they have plans approved. And yes they have, a phone call just ended. I am devastated. I am the only house affected and I was not consulted.

I am heartbroken.

I've read poetry since I was nine and have written creatively since I was fourteen (probably long before that). After writing book reviews and social comment, I decided I wanted to write poetry. I have no formal training, but I surround myself with poets and their writing. I am honing my craft.
I have two published collections which I don't feel good about, but have been published by and other publications. I live on the south coast of England with my daughter. I am seriously ill.
