My friend’s birthday and rugby tomorrow…

Tomorrow is my best friend’s birthday tomorrow. After 38 years of friendship, I have recently begun to remember it again. I was successful in the first few years. I was with them on their 40th birthday here in the UK. They came to do a course in California while I lived there, and we spent time together. They moved to Kenya and I began to forget.

I’ve sent a birthday card through WhatsApp, as the Atlantic is between us.

Another friend of approximately the same length of time, has caused me hurt today. I feel bewildered. It seems she doesn’t know me at all. And yet she does.

I’ve been very busy today. My hydration suffered a bit. I forgot to water a plant. I’m not going to do it now, it can wait until tomorrow.

Rugby tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it. Some real down time.

I've read poetry since I was nine and have written creatively since I was fourteen (probably long before that). After writing book reviews and social comment, I decided I wanted to write poetry. I have no formal training, but I surround myself with poets and their writing. I am honing my craft.
I have two published collections which I don't feel good about, but have been published by madswirl.com and other publications. I live on the south coast of England with my daughter. I am seriously ill.

I like that. It is a very simple way of addressing that issue we ACOAS have to get rid of and early if we are blessed. Thank you sweet Chrisssie. Have a wonderful week. Love ❤️ and many hugs 🤗 Joni
